How Our Calgary Christmas Light Installation Works
We've removed every annoying part of holiday lighting — the shopping, the storage, the ladder, the tangled strands, the January takedown. Here's exactly what happens when you hire FestiveLights, from first text to lights-out in the new year.
Consultation & design
It starts with a conversation. Call or text us a photo of your home and your address, and tell us what you're picturing — a clean warm-white roofline, peaks and gables picked out, a couple of front trees wrapped, the whole estate. We design a layout that suits your home's architecture rather than draping a generic strand and hoping. For larger or acreage properties we'll arrange a quick site visit to measure and plan access.
A clear quote & your install date
You receive a straightforward design and a flat seasonal price that includes the lights, installation, in-season maintenance, takedown and storage. No per-bulb math, no surprise add-ons. Approve it and we lock in your install date. Quoting is always free and there's no deposit just to see a number.
Professional installation
Our insured crew arrives with commercial-grade LED lights custom-cut to fit your home — no gaps, no overlaps, no dangling extension cords. We fasten with proper clips that won't damage your shingles or fascia, hide cords cleanly, and set an automatic timer so your lights come on at dusk and off at your chosen hour. You don't need to be home, and you never touch a ladder.
Maintenance all season
Alberta winters are hard on everything. If a strand or bulb fails between installation and takedown, we come back and fix it at no extra charge. Your display stays looking its best straight through to the new year.
Takedown & storage
When the season's over, we return on schedule, remove every clip, strand and stake, and store everything for you. Your home goes back to normal — no faded lights still clinging to the eaves in March — and your custom set is ready to reinstall next year, usually even faster the second time around.
Why "we supply the lights" matters. Because we own and reuse a custom set cut for your home, you're never stuck with a tote of tangled lights in the garage, you're not buying replacements every few years, and everything is commercial-grade gear rated for −30 °C — not big-box strands that quit in the first cold snap.

Will it damage my roof?
No. We use clips designed for shingles and gutters and never use nails or staples on your roofline.
Do I need to be home?
Usually not. Once the design is approved we can install while you're out, then text you when it's glowing.
What if a bulb goes out?
Text us. In-season maintenance is included — we come fix it, no charge.
